God is Merciful

If a king’s treasure was stolen by one of his enemies, what do you think he’d do when he caught the thief? Imagine if the king decided not to punish the thief, but forgave him and became his friend. The thief deserved to be punished, but they received kindness instead. That’s mercy! In this Bible lesson, children will learn that God is merciful. He keeps back the punishment we deserve and gives us love instead. God showed his great mercy by sending Jesus to die on the cross for our sins. When we believe in Jesus to save us from sin, God keeps back the punishment we deserve for our sin and shows us love by making us part of his family forever.
