Big Idea: Jesus can make me strong and free!

Key Verse: John 8:36 “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”

The organized and easy to use lesson make lesson planning a breeze! Gospel focused and engaging for the children in your class or home. Here’s a sample of part of the lesson plan! It’s ready-to-go and uses eagles, flags, and even a roll of toilet paper to make learning fun and memorable.

Here’s a sneak peek at part of the lesson:

Do: After unwrapping the helper to set them free, have the children help you use new strips of toilet paper to form the letters F-R-E-E on the floor or on a table as you continue teaching.

Say: If you’ve already believed in Jesus to free you from sin, you’re still going to want to sin and disobey God. Jesus can help you have strength to do what’s right! The word “FREE” can help you trust Jesus when you feel like doing something wrong.

  • F – Focus on Jesus! Focus on Jesus by thinking about how awesome he is and what he’s done for you. He wants you to trust him for strength and hope. (Read Isaiah 40:28-31a.) This doesn’t mean you’ll grow stronger muscles or be able to fly. It’s a reminder that Jesus is awesomely greater and stronger than anything or anyone else. He wants you to trust in him for strength and hope.
  • R – Request help! You can request help by praying and asking Jesus to help you think, say, and do what’s right. Ask him to help you say no to sin. You can also ask a trusted adult or friend to pray with you and encourage you.
  • E – Escape the sin! If possible, escape the place or situation where you feel like sinning. Maybe you need to leave the room, end a conversation, turn off the TV, put down your phone, or stop doing something else that is putting you in a place where you want to do something wrong. Safely get away if you can.
  • E – Enjoy Jesus! Instead of doing something wrong, enjoy something good with Jesus. You could sing, draw a picture, read the Bible, help someone, listen to praise music, or spend time in nature. The more you enjoy Jesus, the less you enjoy sin. He is more wonderful and delightful than your sin.
