What are some things children call their fathers? Some children call their fathers Daddy, Papa, or Dad. The Bible tells us God is like a wonderful loving Daddy. He calls himself the Heavenly Father and he’s the greatest father in the universe! He always perfectly cares for his children. If you have believed in Jesus to save you from sin, you are God’s child and he is your Heavenly Father. Say with me, “God is the greatest Father!” The Bible tells us many ways God is the greatest Father. We’re going to learn some of them today.
If you’ve never believed in Jesus as your Savior from sin, the Bible tells you how God can become your Heavenly Father. (Read John 1:12.) This means that everyone who believes that Jesus really did die and really did come alive again to pay the punishment for sin is rescued from sin and becomes God’s child! If you believe in Jesus, you won’t have to be far away from God. God will be with you for the rest of your life to help you get to know him better. After you die, God will take you to be with him in his perfect home, Heaven, forever and ever. Whether you have a good dad, a bad dad, or even if you don’t have a dad in your home at all, God loves you and he wants to be your Heavenly Father.

Most of the kids I teach have single parents and don’t experience a father’s love so I am hoping that this lesson would help them to know, experience God’s love and enjoy Him, their heavenly Father.
